The story of Isabel....

October, 2006
No more fooling around

You hear?

I am a big girl now!

October 31, 2005
Ok! Ok! It's settled.

If I have to dress up

as a bug for Halloween

I might just as well be a Lady.

Get it? Get it? a "Lady Bug"!

How's that?

Granpa! Really, you are beginning to act like a paparazzi!
Can you please put that camera away?

June 7, 2005
Granma! Do I really have to wear this hat?

May 26, 2005
Oh, how much one wishes to take the pain away and make the tears dry up.

But life is like that and even the falls and hurts are part of the learning process

Isabel in a funny hat Wow,
so much to read
and so little time
to do it in.

December, 2004
Hi there!
Wanna go fishin'?
Azores fishing hat

November, 2004
Sun glasses Not my preferred choice
of sunglasses but...
I guess it will do for now.

September, 2004
I still don't think
this hat does much
for my looks!

September 24, 2004
Alright!
I know I am cute
but do you really
have to push it?

This story is significant because our niece, Nina, the second oldest of my brother's children, had allowed the traditional age of child bearing to pass and, by all accounts, was not anticipating a baby in the family. As it happened, at the age of 45, she went to the doctor for a regular checkup and, in the process, found out that Isabel was waiting to be born. Naturally, because of the "un-expectedness" of it all, the event became the talk of the de Chaves clan. Isabel was finally born on January 25, 2004 and what follows is basically a pictorial of her growing up process in reverse order, i.e., the most recent photos posted at the top. The idea is to keep adding as more pictures become available from the "official photographer": my brother.
